The Wheel 2023
Director Eileen Dillane attended The Wheel 2023 International Conference
Director Eileen Dillane attended The Wheel 2023 International Conference (Dublin, May 23) on behalf of new member AMC. Her report (circulated to all board members) highlighted some of the benefits to which AMC can have access.
Some of these may provide the way forward for AMC.
- Funding: An introduction to securing strategic corporate partnerships) concerns the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). On 5 January 2023, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) entered into force. This is a new directive which modernises and strengthens the rules concerning the social and environmental information that companies have to report. A broad set of large companies (companies with >250 employees) will now be required to report on sustainability. From 2026 such reporting will be mandatory. This will present lots of opportunities for charities etc to form partnerships with large companies which will make the companies more compliant, to ensure they are putting resources into sustainable development)
- Access Europe – a support and capacity building programme for organisations to better access EU funds, delivered by The Wheel. AMC can explore existing profiles on www.accesseurope.ie and then create our own profile, which will allow us to contact and be contacted by other organisations with similar goals. There is a monthly newsletter outlining current EU funding opportunities.
- Solas - https://www.solas.ie/ - a state agency for Further Education & Training (FET) sector in Ireland, developing skills. They offer courses and resources for people looking to upskill in technology, not specific to the aims of AMC, but probably worth a look as quite skills focused.
