Dr. Eileen Dillane is a Senior Technical Officer at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University College Cork. She has over 20 years of post-doctoral experience in genetics across a broad range of taxa and environments with authorship on over 50 peer reviewed publications. Specific research areas include population genetics, phylogenetics, pedigree analysis, molecular scatology, disease surveillance, monitoring of invasive species, eDNA studies and forensic species identification. Dr. Dillane has responsibility for the genetics research facilities at the School of BEES, overseeing procurement of equipment and consumables and co-ordinating research budgets from national and EU funding bodies. She is involved in training of staff and students on an individual level for laboratory based research and in class based undergraduate practical sessions.
